Simple Marzipan recipe ideal for fruit cakes.

How to Make Marzipan

Marzipan Recipe

Ingredients

  • 125 g Caster Sugar
  • 125 g Icing Sugar
  • 250 g Ground Almonds
  • 1 x Egg
  • 1 tsp Almond Extract

Instructions

  • Place the ground almonds, icing sugar and caster sugar in a bowl and mix together.
  • Add the beaten egg and almond essence and mix well, at first with a spoon and then with your hands until it has combined into a smooth dough.
  • Turn it out onto a surface dusted with icing sugar and knead until smooth.

Notes

If you are not using the marzipan immediately, wrap it in cling film and store it in the fridge.
